Salim first studied art history but left uninspired. He worked as a barista, tried to build an eco-brand, even joined a corporation in logistics — but nothing felt right. Everything changed almost by chance: in Istanbul, he discovered the craft of macramé bracelets. Red thread, blue thread, green thread… At that moment, he realized he could combine this simple technique with the geometric shapes he loved.

Thus, Salim designed bracelets made of bronze elements, decorated with enamel symbols — the same little diamonds and triangles from his school notebooks. He found artisans to bring the idea to life, and each bracelet became a unique rhythm of 30–75 elements connected together. It was art, music, and freedom at once.

The brand’s name also carries meaning. Albedo — “the reflective capacity of a surface.” Each repeated figure reflects the one before it, creating harmony and continuity. This concept made Albedo truly unique.

The first Albedo bracelets appeared in 2021 at Stock and Handicraft stores. In 2023, the first Albedo boutique opened in downtown Baku near the French Embassy. Later, it moved to the Old City — a place that had fascinated Salim since childhood with its lights and ancient architecture. Here, Albedo became not just jewelry, but also a memory and a story — a souvenir from Azerbaijan for both locals and tourists.

Today, Albedo offers nearly one hundred models. All are unisex, perfectly fitting both women’s and men’s wrists. A new men’s collection with sharper, more ascetic lines is on the way. The brand distances itself from mysticism and imposed symbolism: “A triangle brings luck, a cross is sacred” — those are meanings customers themselves invented. For Albedo, the essence is simple: design itself and the rhythm it creates.

Inspiration flows from everywhere: rooftops and spires, ornaments on buildings, even the forgotten patterns of old manhole covers. Recent travels to Portugal brought new influences: azulejo tile paintings, mosaics, and the iconic sardine fish have already begun to appear in Salim’s designs.

And the dreams do not end there. Future Albedo boutiques are envisioned in Lisbon’s Santos-o-Velho district and in Rome, near Trastevere. Because for Albedo, there are no borders — no dress codes, no restrictions. Only rhythm, simplicity, and jewelry that carries each person’s story.
